Chris Holt, alias ''The Incredible Holt'', is a professional boxer from Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
==Professional boxing career==
Holt made his professional debut in January 2002 at the age of 28. His first bout resulted in a points win against 12-130 Donnie Penelton. Holt stayed unbeaten through four fights, losing for the first time to 10-0 Giovanni Alvarez of Sweden. After three more wins Holt was pitted against 31-5 Kenny Ellis, who gave him his second loss. In September 2004 Holt brought a record of 9-3 into a bout with Kwan Manassah, billed as a contest for the Minnesota state middleweight title. Holt won the title by sweeping every round on all three scorecards, and successfully defended the title once, against 26-4 Troy Lowry, when that fight was stopped after the fifth of ten scheduled rounds due to cuts. Holt lost the state title in a loss to Butch Hajicek in Fargo, North Dakota in December 2005, though questions were raised later about the propriety - even the legality - of having a Minnesota state title fight outside of Minnesota.
The loss to Hajicek was part of a slide in which Holt lost four straight fights and five out of six, including losses to Andre Ward, Aaron Mitchell, and Jean Paul Mendy. Holt reversed course starting in late 2007, putting together a 3-1-1 record in his final five bouts, culminating with a win in his farewell match against JJ Corn.〔http://www.minnesotaboxing.com/PastResults/mahomen_june6_2009/results.html〕
